Howard, or Mr. Thieman was/is the reason I became an appraiser. Having played euchre with him and the "old man's card club" was completely enjoyable and life changing. He and his boys (Jeff and Steven) changed me, my life and my family forever. Impact knows no generation or time frame. His legacy lives on in the generosity and love through his family. A great man whose quality will be felt for years. I loved Howard and will miss his presence. Randy Anderson

My prayers and heartfelt sympathy go out to his family. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. The backyard pool parties always gave off the aura of "joie de vivre" during the summer.

Howard was a wonderful man with a great sense of humor and wonderful wit. A true gentleman who always made people feel welcome. A West Side legend and great businessman. He will be missed but never forgotten. He and Charlotte were one of a kind and are toasting a cocktail in heaven.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Howard's passing. I have had the pleasure of knowing Howard and some of his family members for over 20 years and I consider him and his family not only clients of mine but, more importantly, friends. He is and was a wonderful man who I will greatly miss and I know I am not alone in saying that. I wish him peace and will pray for his family in this time of mourning.

Great sympathy to Uncle Howard's children and family. I am happy that he is finally at peace with Aunt Charlotte. What I most remember of Uncle Howard is his gentle kindness, his love of family and his sense of humor and fun. He never held himself superior but always enjoyed listening to others and joining in the funny conversation. We will all miss him so much, especially my Mom. Letting go of such a wonderful uncle is never easy, but I am comforted knowing that he is in a better place. Much, much love, Emily Thurner Rowe and Greg
