Mr. Kappen.... I miss you and all the amazing Germans who have passed. I remember one night at a Kolping event (a wedding I think) you spun me around the dance floor with your strength, umph and spirit and at times my feet weren't even touching the floor. Everybody was happy that night. Thank you. I hope you are in God's forever kingdom with all the hard working and strong Germans who came to this country to live, love, work for and respect it. If my faith is right, I'll see all of you on the other side!

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there is a hope for ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

We sure do fondly remember Otger Kappen! We danced to the beautiful music, while Otger played the trumpet, at the many Catholic Kolping Society dances, going back to the early 1960's. Festivals, Dances, Senior Meetings, and, Kolping volunteer workers,,,Otger was always there! Otger you will be very much missed! To his family,,,we send our most sincere sympathy! Gus n Mary Kramer

One of the kindest, sweetest, most selfless and intelligent men I have ever known. It was truly a pleasure knowing and caring for you. He never had a bad word for anyone. Ott, I will miss you you more than you know. You will always have a special place in my heart. Give my Missy a big hug for me.
Until we meet again.
Love you,
Pam

My grandfather Lou Hiltenberger considered Otger one of his best friends. There were 30 plus years difference in their ages, but kindred spirits. I remember Otger as a very kind and caring man, always willing to help my Grandpa Lou. I'm sorry for his family's loss.
