Rich visited our school every year to deliver the Now You're 18 talk to our seniors. They loved him! It was always one of the most worthwhile assemblies we ever had. Rich really cared about giving good advice to the students, and encouraging them to be good, responsible citizens (and to vote!)
Rest In Peace Rich. To his loved ones: my deepest sympathies on your loss.

Aneek haysbert and Ronald Miller wants to send our condolences as we've known Rich for over ten years as a attorney and as he says a friend! I'm sad to hear this and I'm sorry for the family

First of all my son and I are still simply shocked by this tragic news. My son was a client of his, and in the very short time we were Blessed to make his aquaintance, we knew that he was a man who really believed and stood for justice and integrity, in a world where there is so little. He will truly be missed, but never forgotten. May GOD Bless You, And Keep You In Your Time Of Sorrow.

I came across this remembrance by accident. I saw Richard VandeRyt and picture, and thought, I know him. When he was in law school at Chase, he came to Thomas More College when I taught there, to speak about law school to our Pre-Law Students. I was surprised to see a uniformed officer arrive around 3:30 in the afternoon. He did a fine job talking to those students, and was a first class individual. I am so sorry to discover he has passed. My prayer are with you.

My condolences to all of the VandeRyt families. I am so grateful to Rich for teaching our boys the server rubrics, but even more for instilling a sense of excellence in their work. He was a great role model. He always had a complimentary thing to say and always made you feel like he was at your service. What a sweet guy. He will be missed!
