My sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved father. Requiescat in pace. Only the firmest of commitments could have kept me from attending your father's funeral.

Shortly before the announcement of the fact that your brother (Fr. Willig) had been stricken with cancer, I attended a Mass at the Cathedral when he was the celebrant. He gave an extremely effective homily on praying for vocations. Since that day, I have prayed an extra decade of the Rosary daily for vocations. When Fr. Willig passed away, I added the repose of his soul to the intentions of that decade. The repose of your father's soul is now an additional intention.
I had never seen your father before. When I saw the photos of him on Facebook. I was struck by the resemblance. You look, as my Daddy would have said, like you were spit out of his mouth!

God bless!

When I saw Ed at Bayley Place last year, I mentioned that he is one of the few people left who knew me before I was born! My parents, Jack and Peg Litzinger, were good friends of the Willigs and I remember going to their home for Newman Club picnics in the 1950s!
I was so glad to see him still singing! I know his family is comforted by faith and prayer and memories.

Ed & Alice and their entire family always made me feel at home. Trust that all of his Louisiana friends will be praying for the repose of his soul, and for the consolation of all who loved him. Christ's Peace, Our Lady's Prayers - and in the Spirit of Father Jim - my love! Fr. Hampton Davis

Thoughts and prayers to the entire Willig family.

He is now up in Heaven, singing with all of the Angels!

His son, Father Jim Willig, as well as Edgar's wife, Alice, are both welcoming him with loving and open arms in to Heaven, and they are both so very happy to see him!

Treasure all of the wonderful memories your family has of him!

Such a wonderful husband patriarch to a faithful
Catholic family that produced Fr. Jim as well as so
many good children in a time when you don't see
that very often.

Eddy was the very 1st to greet Pam and me as we
came into our wedding reception . He was the 1st to say " Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Ballman " followed by
that warm smile that said you knew you have a true friend!

The world was richer having you as it's citizen, but
Heaven ultimately is the winner. May God Bless you, Eddy, and your family as well

Love, Kato and Pam

I am remember Edgar with so much love and gratitude for the love he showed to each of his grandchildren, specifically to Tim, Libby, Peter and Alex. I always was grateful that they were able to experience a grandfather's love at such a deep level. He will be missed. Many blessings to each of the family during this time. I wish I could be with you to celebrate this wonderful human being. Sending much love to you all. May you all be blessed.

In the year 2000 I received a call that my 11 Week old Grandson had been diagnosed with Terminal Cancer. In the middle of the highest traffic area in the Erlanger Facility Mr Willig put his arms around me and prayed for our Lord's blessing on Beau and the family. He Prayed that God's will would be manifested in Beau life. Beau will be 18 years of age this July.

My heart is always very full when I think of Mr Willig.

One of the finest people of my life. May he have the prefered place in Heaven , that he rightfully deserves

I met Ed in the pool at the WH Health Plex. He would come in the door singing and still be singing when he left. As a new instructor I loved learning the words to all those wonderful songs we could all sing together. I still sing them with my class and often think of Ed when I do. Heaven is sure going to be a more musical place.
