Condolence & Memory Journal

Worked with Wil for a number of years with the KC Royals. Great and loyal individual. Always very pleasant and easy going. Hard worker and very dedicated. Remained a good friend to the end. He will be missed. My best to all the family.

Words can't describe how sad in spirit about the passing of Ardy and Wilbur Rutenschroer. During the time I was there caring for Mrs. Ardy, I was always greeted with a smile and great conversation from Mr. Wilbur. Whenever I had a question about anything, he always had the answer for me. Even when I had the stop caring for Mrs. Ardy, I always made sure I sent a card to them to let them know that I always think of them and what's been going on in my life and Mr. Wilbur would do the same towards me. I wish I had the chance to see them both one more time but I will forever remember them for who they were to me and the compassion given at each visit. I'm glad they are both together again. I miss you both and I will continue to pray for you both and the entire Rutenschroer family.
With condolence and blessings to all,
Kelli Bradshaw

I had the good fortune to be a player on the 1963 undefeated championship team that Wil coached, as well as in 1964. He was a very inspirational person who got the best out of his players. He remembered all of us at later events, and he wanted to have a reunion inviting players from all of his coaching years. Sadly, this will not be able to happen. May Coach and Ardy rest in peace.

What a great guy Wil was! He accomplished much in his life, and had a very positive and enduring influence on the young people he taught and coached. His legacy will live on in you, his family, who he cherished more than any recognition he received. He and Ardy were a great team who lived the American dream. Their life story is a positive example for all of us who try every day to be better. May God bless all of you, Wil's family, as you remember him and lay him to rest, knowing that he and Ardy are together again in God's loving presence.

Played for Coach on 1963 undefeated team. At 50 year reunion, he remembered us all & related numerous stories about everyone. Important man for all of us who knew him.Nothing but happy memories of HS because of him. Great coach but better man.

I remember playing football games in Mr Rutenschoer,s backyard and he would watch us from his back porch. I also remember him cutting the fish in his backyard that he and Gary caught on their many fishing trips. Great memories.

I have fond memories of Mr Rutenschoer watching us play football in his backyard from his back porch. I also remember him cutting the fish behind his house that he and Gary caught on their fishing trips. Great memories!

Drew Vogel - student at Oak Hills High School 1958-1962.

Played for Ruty on the very first Oak Hills football team and until I was a senior.

Great guy. Great coach.

In the handful of times I saw him after leaving Oak Hills he always remembered me.

God bless all of you, his family.
