John Ellison, 87 years of age, passed away on Monday, Feb.5, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Ellison for over 63 years and the devoted father of Greg (Angie), Barry, David (late Teresa), and Julie. He was a loving grandfather to Laureen Ellison, (Colum Young), Michelle Shetty (Chethan), Samantha Ellison, Nicole Ellison, Lindsey Ellison, and Brandon Ellison. Additionally, he was the proud great-grandfather of Marin Young and Cian Young. Following discharge from the military, he eventually settled into a career in the mortgage loan industry for over 40 dedicated years starting with Eagle Savings Association and concluding with Union Savings Bank from where he retired. Aside from family and work responsibilities, he was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes (OLL) Church for over 40 years, an avid member of the OLL "Old-Timers" softball team for over 35 years, a member of the Elder High School Principal's "Lay Advisory Board" during the 1970s, and a long-time, enthusiastic supporter of the Elder Dad's Club/ Elder Boosters.
