WINTER, Joseph C., beloved husband of Jean Winter (nee Byrne) for 64 years. Loving father of Donna (Bob) Salmon, Eileen (Mark) Rechtsteiner, Mary Jo (Tony) Schmidt, Tom Winter, Rob (Debbie) Winter and Julie (Bernie) Kluesener. Devoted grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his twin brother Howard, and brothers Fr. Pius OFM and Charlie Winter. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 92 years of age. Visitation on FRIDAY at MEYER FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Bridgetown Rd., from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Church, 5857 Bridgetown Rd., at 10:30 AM. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263.

Dad was a man of few words during his 92 years on this earth, but when he did speak, you listened. He was a quiet, humble and devout family man, married to our mom for 64 years, raised 6 children, and had 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Definitely a good Catholic family!

Dad grew up in Westwood as part of St. Catherine parish. He and his twin brother Howard were proud members of the Elder class of 1943. They enjoyed monthly luncheons with their fellow Elder grads for many years at Price Hill Chili. Dad joined the Navy and proudly served during World War II. Following his service, he attended and earned his degree from Xavier University. He worked for most of his career at O.K. Trucking Company as a traffic manager.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed going to Michigan and the Southwest with his brothers and his sons. After we were grown, dad and mom ... READ MORE →
